Reporting to: Camp Manager
Contract: Seasonal work in school holidays.
Hours: 8.30am - 5.30pm weekdays. Full season or part season roles available, with additional hours for staff holding a paediatric first aid qualification (usually 8am - 6pm).
Summary of Position
The role of the Early Years Instructor is to ensure the welfare and safety of the children on camp, and to deliver outstanding, structured sports, art, and play activities to the Early Years children—our Ultimate Activity Juniors. The activities follow the EYFS requirements for learning and development, emphasizing participation and quality.
With support from the Early Years Leader, you will have a pastoral role, being a key contact for 4- and 5-year-olds, maintaining their welfare, and providing high-quality care.
* Prepare and deliver activities for the Ultimate Activity Juniors, focusing on participation, development, and enjoyment.
* Promote welfare and ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to.
* Attend a Camp Induction Day to help set up the Junior provision.
* Take a pastoral role as a group leader, welcoming children and liaising with parents and the EY Leader.
* Supervise and engage with children outside activity times.
* Adapt activities to meet individual needs of children from diverse backgrounds and stages of development.
* Uphold the camp’s promise of "Inspiring Children Every Day" and behave professionally.
* Perform ad-hoc duties such as cleaning and equipment maintenance.
Person Specification
* Enthusiastic, energetic, and passionate about working with children through play and activities.
* Experience working with children aged 4-5 in sports, art, or educational settings.
* Confident instructor, adaptable in delivery and structure.
* Good organizational and communication skills.
* Flexible team player, adaptable to dynamic situations.

Desirable Requirements
* Experience with Early Years children and EYFS delivery.
* Level 2 childcare or Early Years qualification, or working towards a degree in a related field.
* Paediatric First Aid (12 or 6-hour) or First Aid at Work qualification.
