Customer Development Representative

Job Summary
We’re excited to introduce a brand‑new Customer Development Representative role within our Leeds‑based team. This hybrid position (working 3 days in the office each week) combines inside sales, customer service, and technical understanding to support both new and existing customers.
You’ll reach out through a variety of channels — phone, email, and digital platforms — to understand customer needs, recommend solutions, and help drive Farnell’s continued growth. You’ll build trusted relationships, identify new sales opportunities, and support your customers with a value‑led approach that contributes directly to our commercial success.

What will you be doing?
11. Use independent judgement and proven sales methodologies to deliver solutions and uncover new opportunities.
12. Identify and route potential sales to appropriate stakeholders when necessary.
13. Proactively reach out to prospective and existing customers to promote Farnell’s product range, services, and capabilities.
14. Respond accurately and efficiently to customer enquiries to support a positive experience.
15. Manage sales activity through each stage of the cycle, from first contact to fulfilment.
16. Deepen relationships with existing accounts by understanding their markets, pipelines, and timelines.
17. Collaborate with product specialists, materials teams, field sales, and suppliers to develop aligned customer strategies.
18. Provide customers with up‑to‑date product information, pricing, quotations, and full solution support.
19. Coordinate customer requirements relating to inventory, pricing, and delivery schedules.
20. Support team and business‑wide initiatives as needed.

21. Bring up to 2 years’ experience in sales, customer service, or a similar role.
22. Hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
23. Have growing awareness of commercial environments and the sales process.
