Senior Furniture Testing Technician - 18 month FTC Kettering Hours - 37.5 hrs pw Salary - to £26,750 plus good benefits Our client, a leading provider of specialist product testing services is seeking a Senior Furniture Technician to join their technical team on a fixed-term basis. Operating within a UKAS-accredited laboratory environment, this role offers the chance to work with a wide range of furniture products and support a growing international client base across the housing, commercial, and retail sectors. This position is ideal for a technically minded individual with experience in physical product testing, ideally in the furniture, materials, or manufacturing sectors. The Role The successful candidate will play a key role in the planning and execution of furniture testing programmes, liaising directly with clients, coordinating schedules, and ensuring all testing activities meet relevant British, European, and international standards. Key Responsibilities Include: Preparing and conditioning furniture products for testing Conducting physical performance tests on items such as mattresses, seating, tables, and cabinets Supporting foam, mattress, and surface finish testing where needed Liaising with clients regarding testing procedures, timelines, and results Acting as the lead contact for enquiries related to trade body compliance (e.g. NBF) Delivering technical guidance to junior team members and ensuring best practice Maintaining accurate training and competency records Working within a quality-controlled, health and safety-compliant environment Candidate Profile The role requires a hands-on, technically competent professional with excellent organisation and communication skills. Previous experience in product testing, quality assurance, or a similar technical environment will be highly beneficial.
