Overview
Renishaw is currently looking to recruit Electronics SMT Operators to be based at our Miskin site, near Cardiff, South Wales. Successful candidates will be responsible for the assembly and inspection of Electronics circuit boards to a specified quality standard using fully automated equipment during double day shifts (6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm). The successful applicants will work as part of a team alongside a group of Production Technicians and Engineers.
Responsibilities
* Responsible for running SMT, Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) and Repair equipment. Feedback any problems or concerns to the Production Engineering & Supervisory teams to promote continuous improvement.
* To follow all relevant instructions, both written and verbal, and highlight any deficiencies observed in the process.
* To use the skills and techniques acquired during training, to work in an efficient and quality conscious manner so that product quality and production targets are met.
* To work sensibly, conscientiously and safely at all times, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety regulations and reporting all Health and Safety concerns immediately.
* Ensure high level of organisation, housekeeping and cleanliness disciplines, which are essential to ensure maintenance of the surface mount and inspection equipment.
* Good knowledge of electronics processes, associated defects and be familiar with electronic device package types.
* Ability to read and interpret electronic assembly and panel layout drawings.
* Must be prepared to work an alternating double day shift pattern.
* The ability and confidence to operate with machinery, test equipment and computer systems.
* A high level of dexterity.
* Good eyesight, with spectacles/lenses if worn.
Person specification / Qualifications
* Successful applicants should be able to work independently with minimal supervision and participate effectively within a team. A positive attitude and strong work ethic are required. Flexibility is necessary, as there may be occasions when overtime outside normal hours is required, including weekends.
* Applicants must possess effective communication skills in written, typed, and oral forms. The role requires the ability to provide constructive feedback to Electronics Production Engineers. Candidates should also demonstrate a record of punctuality and consistent attendance.
* Good knowledge of electronics processes, associated defects and familiarity with electronic device package types (listed above as part of responsibilities).
