Job Description: Healthcare Assistant (HCA) – Arabic Speaking Location: Southwark, London Job Type: [Full-time / Part-time / Temporary] Reports to: Senior Nurse / Ward Manager / Care Supervisor About the Role: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant who is fluent in Arabic to join our team in Southwark. The ideal candidate will support nursing staff in delivering high-quality patient care, ensuring the comfort and safety of patients, and providing assistance with daily living activities. Your Arabic language skills will be essential for effective communication with Arabic-speaking patients and their families. Key Responsibilities: * Provide personal care and support to patients, including bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding, while maintaining dignity and respect. * Assist nursing staff with clinical tasks such as taking vital signs (temperature, pulse, blood pressure), recording observations, and reporting changes in patient condition. * Support patients with mobility, including helping them to move safely around the ward or care facility. * Communicate effectively with Arabic-speaking patients, families, and colleagues to ensure clear understanding and compassionate care. * Assist with meal preparation and feeding as required. * Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients. * Follow all health and safety and infection control policies. * Document care activities and report any concerns to senior staff promptly. * Attend training and development sessions to enhance skills and knowledge. Person Specification: * Fluent in Arabic (spoken and written) – essential. * Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant or in a similar care role preferred but not essential. * Caring, empathetic, and patient-focused approach. * Good communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team. * Basic understanding of clinical procedures and infection control. * Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends if required. * Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of patients.
