A leading organisation within the specialty insurance and reinsurance sector is looking for a Technical Lead to design and deliver modern, cloud-based digital underwriting solutions.
You'll lead the development of scalable, secure platforms on Microsoft Azure, working closely with global technology teams, actuaries, and business stakeholders. This is a hands-on leadership role combining solution design, coding, mentoring, and technical decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead design and development of cloud-native solutions for digital underwriting use cases
* Build and maintain high-quality applications using TypeScript
* Design and manage solutions on Azure, including App Services, Functions, and containers (AKS)
* Use Databricks to support data modelling, analytics, and actuarial insights
* Set up and optimise CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps
* Mentor developers, conduct code reviews, and lead technical design sessions
* Apply cloud security best practices within a regulated insurance environment
Key Skills
* Strong commercial software development experience with technical leadership responsibility
* Advanced TypeScript skills and solid Azure expertise
* Experience with containers, CI/CD, and data platforms such as Databricks
* Ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
