Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Café Manager to oversee the daily operations of our café. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and a strong background in food service, with skills in team management and culinary practices. As Café Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining food safety standards, and leading a team to deliver an outstanding café experience along with carrying out admin duties.
Responsibilities
* Manage the daily operations of the café, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
* Lead and motivate a team of staff, fostering a positive work environment.
* Oversee food preparation and presentation, ensuring high standards of quality and safety.
* Implement and maintain food safety protocols in compliance with health regulations.
* Keeping all the required documentation up to date in terms of health and safety regulations for the café.
* Dealing with external verndors/suppliers to run the daily operations at café.
* Develop menus that reflect current trends while considering customer preferences.
* Handle inventory management, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
* Hire, Onboard and Train new staff on café procedures, customer service standards, and culinary techniques.
* Complete weekly/monthly reports on Google Sheets and coordinate with Head Office.
* Handling and keeping records of all the tips and manage the distribution among the staff.
* Plan, Create and Manage staff rota and the hours on our rota and clock-in/out system (workforce) efficiently.
* Monitor financial performance, including sales targets and cost control measures.
* Engage with customers to gather feedback and enhance their overall experience.
Requirements
* Proven experience in a managerial role within a café, restaurant, or hotel setting.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire a diverse team.
* Knowledge of culinary practices, food preparation techniques, and food safety regulations.
* Ability to work efficiently with systems like Google Sheets, Workforce and Till.
* Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers and staff alike.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
* Experience in bartending is advantageous but not essential.
* A passion for hospitality and commitment to delivering exceptional service.
