Job Description Summary
Become part of a winning team and help to deliver the Green Energy transition. Situated in GE Stafford and part of the SMT team, the PCBA Prototype Technician is responsible for producing new PCB products with mixed technologies using Surface Mount processes.
The primary objective is to achieve swift prototype production while conducting design for assembly and test assessments, employing the latest techniques. This includes expertise in cleaning processes, hand assembly, rework techniques, and utilizing both automated and manual inspection equipment to meet IPC level 3 standards.
Moreover, the role involves offering feedback on manufacturability and providing design support to enhance the overall design and NPI process. Working to specifications and instructions, using the correct tools, methods, and equipment.
Meeting exacting standards expected by the customer. Applicants must be able to work 2 shift rotations (AM/PM shifts) - when required.
Main duties and responsibilities:
* Interface with the production management system.
* Work equipment / machinery to prescribed procedures and in a safe manner.
* Follow the prescribed production and quality procedures.
* Carry out work in the correct order.
* Carry out all maintenance within the stated period.
* Report any concerns to the Shift Supervisor
* Inspect the work in accordance with the critical characteristics.
* To be fully conversant with I.P.C. and be able to work to relevant quality standards.
* Ensure that the housekeeping of their work area is to the desired level.
* Ensure that all work output is manufactured and inspected to acceptable quality standards.
* Maintain time and attendance to company standards.
* Observe Health and Safety regulations as laid down in company procedures.
* Carry out any other reasonable tasks requested from time to time.
* PCB Assembly (Conventional and SMT)
* Understanding of assembly drawing component and Bill of material
* PCB Rework
* PCB components inspection
* PCB Testing using Flying probe would be an advantage
* General PCB Assembly.
* Can demonstrate a high level of initiative and ability to work independently.
* Ability to train others in use of equipment and process techniques.
* Ability to interpret manufacturing instructions, specifications, and drawings.
* Ability to interpret electronic component codifications and specifications to confirm correct application.
* Ability to carry out daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly maintenance on equipment and machinery within the department
* Ability to operate equipment and software packages for Pick and Place machines, Printers, Reflow oven, DI water and Cleaning Plant.
Skills
* Good Timekeeping and attendance.
* Able to work 2 shift rotations - when required.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced high technology production environment.
* Ability to work as a member of a team and assist in the smooth running of the department to meet required output.
* Excellent workmanship and attention to detail.
* Self-disciplined and able to work with the minimum of supervision.
* Good communication skills.
Experience
* Previous experience in electronic manufacturing or manufacturing environment, preferred but not essential as full training is given.
