About the role: The Risk System Manager within the Financial Risk team will oversee the design, development, production, control, and documentation of financial risk metrics and management reporting. This individual will be accountable for the reliable production of financial risk metrics and ensuring robust processes, while effectively articulating and representing risk perspectives and requirements within various risk system initiatives across the fund. By developing a thorough understanding of NWF’s risk architecture, the Risk System Manager will also support both the Head of Financial Risk and the Chief Risk Officer by preparing recommendations and delivering training and presentations to the risk team and other stakeholders. Key Accountabilities Develop and implement the risk metrics production in collaboration with other functions such as Finance, IT, Banking, Local Authority and PMO. Develop the framework and associated policies, standards and procedures driving risk metrics production. Provide subject matter expertise to NWF’s risk senior management team on risk systems, production and reporting matters, and oversee the associated controls, to ensure robustness and integrity of the processes. Evaluate the external (procurements) and internal system options and provide recommendations to the risk senior management team plus our Risk, Credit and Operational Risk committees. Prepare and support risk answers to internal/ external audit and our shareholder on risk systems considerations. Shape risk systems requirements supporting NWF on its path to risk maturity. Prepare and present NWFs risk systems & production present status and future developments to the Risk management team, Risk team and other stakeholders. Key Experience, Knowledge & Skills Experience: Experience of risk systems acquired in a financial institution or audit firm Experience in complex multifaceted risk project management Exposure of working with heads of departments and / or executive committee members (exco or exco -1 level) Experience of working with government would be an advantage but not essential Knowledge: Excellent working knowledge and expertise of risk metrics production (ECL, Regulatory Capital, Stress testing, concentration, market risk) Good working knowledge of front and back-office system environments used by financial institutions Good working knowledge of coding languages (Excel VBA, Python, SQL, R, MS Fabric) Skills: Strong analytical skills combined with the ability to communicate complex information in a simplified manner. Possess strong presentation skills; demonstrate ability to present to a wide range of stakeholders. Excellent communication, listening, and writing skills. Strong attention to detail and well organized; ability to prioritize, multi-task and work well under pressure. Ability to think strategically and have vision while also focusing on the details and execution. Self-motivated and works well independently; capable of taking initiative without prompting. Strong problem-solving techniques, including the ability to identify, research and resolve unfamiliar issues and ability to clearly communicate issues to key stakeholders.
