Job summary:
The maintenance team leader will lead a multi-disciplined maintenance team to ensure delivery of key performance indicators, ensuring that all items of plant and equipment are maintained to the appropriate standard to ensure that their performance is safe and reliable. The maintenance team leader will drive a culture of continuous improvement throughout their team of skilled maintenance engineers/technicians, ensuring that all major breakdowns are root caused with improvement and preventative measures identified.
Main responsibilities:
1. Responsible for the completion and implementation of all manufacturing maintenance activities across the site, supported by the technical specialists.
2. Ensure appropriate resources and time are available for the application of systematic approach to engineering maintenance.
3. Ensure weekly maintenance reviews and planning meetings routinely occur and the effective outcomes are monitored / reported.
4. Monitor plant operational efficiency and reliability identifying areas of under performance and implement plans to deliver an improvement; documenting the impact of success in time and/or financial return.
5. Ensure a standardised approach to maintenance is implemented across all shifts and process.
6. Agree preventative maintenance plans with manufacturing maintenance and operations.
7. Audit CMMS (Computerised Maint. Management System) ensuring breakdowns/repairs are logged.
Essential competencies, skills and experience:
8. Experienced engineer with relevant experience of managing a multi-skilled maintenance team.
9. Knowledge and application of UK regulatory standards.
10. Understanding and experience in application of a CMMS system.
11. Experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting and continuous improvement of pneumatic/hydraulic or electrical/PLC systems.
12. Analytical skills with drive to implement improvements.
13. Competent IT skills with ability to plan, create and present projects clearly.
14. Proven ability to lead projects and deliver solutions on time within a budget.
Desirable competencies, skills and experience:
15. Lean/six sigma qualifications
16. Experience of a target driven/KPI focussed production environment
17. Experience using CMMS
Required qualifications:
18. HNC/D or BTECH 3/5 in mechanical/electrical maintenance engineering
19. IOSH/ NEBOSH certificate
