Aurelius Advisers is a boutique advisory firm specialising in M&A and corporate strategy. We are now launching a dedicated AI Strategy Consulting practice to help ambitious UK mid-market / private-equity backed firms get board-level clarity on AI - offering vendor-neutral advice that turns technology trends into executive action.
This new practice will be small, focussed and entrepreneurial, with the intention of reinvesting a percentage of profits into early-stage technology ventures.
The Role
As Founding Consultant, you will be the first hire and lead the overall development and delivery of the practice. You’ll set the standard for our work and drive long-term growth alongside the Partner.
Your responsibilities include:
* Designing and delivering results-driven AI strategy projects for senior leadership and boards.
* Translating market shifts and AI trends into actionable boardroom insights.
* Managing client relationships end-to-end, from pitch through engagement and follow-on.
* Building out the proposition, thought leadership and recruitment for the practice, leveraging your initiative and judgment.
* Collaborating with our M&A team as needed.
This is not a typical consulting role: you’ll operate with autonomy and shape how the firm grows.
What We’re Looking For
* Current or former strategy consultant from MBB.
* Academic excellence from a leading institution.
* Track record advising clients and driving successful projects.
* You’re a self-starter who thrives in a small, independent environment and takes genuine ownership.
* Comfortable with sales and business development.
* Entrepreneurial energy: proactive and adaptable.
* Commercial grasp of AI’s business applications (strategy, risk, governance), with curiosity and practical use of AI tools (deep technical background not required).
* London-based; open to some UK and European travel.
