Offer description

North Northamptonshire Council is looking to recruit 3 Procurement Officers to join our procurement team. The successful candidates will be essential in delivering procurement activities on behalf of the Council. They will report to a Procurement Manager and benefit from being part of an experienced team.

The Procurement Team's remit is to develop Council-wide procurement policies and strategies, providing professional expertise to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of procuring goods, works, and services for North Northamptonshire Council and The Northamptonshire Children's Trust. The team offers expert advice and support to front-line departments and manages a range of corporate contracts.

Our goal is to transform how the Council and Trust procure goods and services by developing innovative procurement strategies and e-procurement solutions to streamline processes and improve service-specific contracts.

We value our staff and operate under principles of being customer-focused, respectful, efficient, supportive, and trustworthy. We are committed to an inclusive recruitment process, being a recognized Disability Confident Employer, and supporting the Armed Forces community, having re-signed the Armed Forces Covenant in June 2024 and achieved the silver status award for the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme.

Key responsibilities include:

5. Managing multiple projects simultaneously.
6. Providing professional advice, support, and guidance to stakeholders.

Essential skills include computer literacy at an intermediate level in Word, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint, and knowledge of procurement electronic systems such as ERP. The role requires liaising with internal and external stakeholders, procurement clients, customers, and third parties.

We offer a range of benefits, including an Employee Assistance Programme, Employee Benefits Scheme, wellbeing support, travel rates at HMRC rates, and support for active Employee Network Groups.

Join us to be part of a vibrant working environment that offers a competitive salary, a pension scheme with significant contributions, opportunities for professional development, generous leave entitlement, and flexible working arrangements to support work-life balance.
