Main duties of the job
Provide general medical services to the practice population in accordance with current best practice and GMC Good Medical Practice guidelines.
Conduct consultations, homevisits (when necessary), and telephone/video consultations as required.
Provide appropriate diagnosis, investigation, treatment, and referral in line with clinical policies and NICE guidance.
Manage acute and chronic illnesses, promoting continuity of care and patient‑centred decision‑making.
Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and timely medical records using System One.
Participate in the management of patients with long‑term conditions.
Undertake medication reviews, prescribing safely and effectively in line with practice and national protocols.
Support and participate in local and national enhanced services and QOF activities.
Contribute to the management of urgent and on‑the‑day patient demand through duty doctor or triage sessions.
Team and Organisational Responsibilities
Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team including nurses, pharmacists, ANPs, and more.
Attend and contribute to clinical meetings, significant event analyses, and quality improvement initiatives.
Participate in the practice audit, governance, and safeguarding processes.
Support the practice in achieving targets and service improvements in line with PCN and ICB objectives.
Contribute to the education and supervision of trainees, students, or new staff as appropriate.
Participate in practice development initiatives and contribute ideas for service improvement.

Qualifications
Essential
* Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and inclusion on the GP Register.
* Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) or equivalent.
* Eligible to work in UK general practice (NHS performers list registration).
* Experience in providing primary care services within a GP practice or similar environment.
* Experience in managing long-term conditions, acute presentations, and preventive care.
