Planning Officer (Development Control)
Location: Nuneaton Town Hall, NuneatonRate: £24.05 per hour (Umbrella)Hours: 37 hours per weekContract: 3-Month Rolling Contract
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Planning Officer to join a busy Development Control team on a 3-month rolling contract.
The Role
You will be responsible for:
* Managing a varied caseload of planning applications.
* Preparing reports and recommendations under delegated powers and for Planning Committee.
* Negotiating with applicants, consultees and stakeholders.
* Assisting with planning appeals and enforcement matters.
* Monitoring developments and discharging planning conditions.
* Negotiating Section 106 Agreements.
* Providing professional planning advice to customers and stakeholders.
About You
You will have:
* Experience in Development Control within Local Government or the public sector.
* Knowledge of planning legislation, policy and development management processes.
* Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
* Eligibility for Chartered Membership of the RTPI (or ability to achieve this within 12 months).
* A current driving licence and access to suitable transport, or alternative means of travel.
