Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, particularly within settings such as nursing homes, care homes, and assisted living facilities. This role requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for seniors and individuals with various health conditions, including Alzheimer's and dementia.
Duties
* Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
* Provide medication administration as per care plans and ensure adherence to prescribed schedules.
* Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences.
* Support clients in maintaining their independence by assisting with mobility and heavy lifting when necessary.
* Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote mental and emotional well-being.
* Monitor and document changes in clients' health status, reporting any concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
* Implement behaviour management strategies as needed to support clients with challenging behaviours.
* Drive clients to appointments or social engagements as required.
* Collaborate with family members and healthcare teams to develop and review personalised care plans.
Requirements
* Previous experience in caregiving, particularly in senior care or hospice care settings is preferred.
* Knowledge of medical terminology and case management practices is advantageous.
* Certification in first aid is highly desirable.
* Familiarity with Alzheimer's care and dementia care techniques is beneficial.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with clients and their families.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely when assisting clients.
* DBS must has to be on the update service.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From £14.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
