Secondary SEN Outreach Tutor ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated Secondary SEN Outreach Tutor to deliver bespoke education packages on a 1:1 basis to young people who are currently not attending school in Buckinghamshire. This role involves working with pupils who have Special Educational Needs (SEN), including those with social, emotional, and mental health challenges (SEMH) and other learning difficulties. Many of these students have been out of formal education for an extended period, so your ability to build trust, re-engage them in learning, and provide a structured, supportive environment is essential. As an Outreach Tutor, you will: Design and deliver individualised lessons that bridge gaps in learning and align with the national curriculum where appropriate. Focus on improving confidence, engagement, and attainment. Provide a safe and positive learning experience.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or tutor who wants to move away from the traditional classroom setting and make a real difference through personalised education. CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS Location - Various locations across Buckinghamshire Position - Secondary SEN Outreach Tutor Type of work - Contract Start date - ASAP Duration - Dependent on individual student needs End date - N/A Contract type - Temporary Full time/part time - Flexible Minimum rate of pay - £25 per hour Hours - Sessions typically range from 1 to 3 hours, with schedules tailored to pupil availability EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS, PGCE, or equivalent Minimum 6 months' experience working in a UK school setting Experience supporting pupils with SEN and/or SEMH needs is highly desirable Up-to-date Safeguarding trainingTO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST: Hold Right to Work in the UK Possess an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or be willing to apply for one Provide two professional child-related references covering the last two yearsOTHER INFORMATION If you would like to be considered for this role, please apply with an up-to-date CV.
