Overview
About The Role
This is a full-time role working NIGHT shifts only, 8pm - 8am. Full flexibility is required.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Care Assistant at HC One, Kindness will be at the core of everything you do. You will plan and implement the kind of care that gives residents a real sense of security, dignity and independence. You will get to know residents and their families, helping to ensure you deliver truly personalised care plans. You will lead a team of Care Assistants and be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of care and influencing the team. You may assist with showing how to use a walking frame, helping someone at the end of life to eat a meal, or talking to a resident’s family on the phone, always with kindness. You will assist the Registered Nurse and Care Manager in providing essential physical and mental stimulation through social and recreational activities, as well as administering medication.
One key responsibility is to maintain accurate records of the work you do and build strong relationships with the rest of the team.
Ideally, you’ll have completed a Level 2 Diploma S/NVQ in Adult Care and be prepared to work towards Level 3 qualification in Adult Care or equivalent, with a background in person-centred care planning and knowledge of caring for people with dementia. What’s essential is your positive energy and ability to get along with people. You’ll know what good record keeping looks like, be able to manage your time effectively, and communicate with residents or co-workers with consideration and kindness.
About HC-One
At HC-One, kindness is more than a word. It is a belief that caring for people means caring about what matters most to them so we can support them to lead their best possible life.
To provide the kindest possible care there are 5 qualities that everyone who is part of the HC-One team shows up with, supports and coaches in each other every single day. We call these 5 qualities Kindness the HC-One Way: We are curious, compassionate, creative yet practical, courageous in how we support residents to live the life they want, and we can always be counted on.
We champion inclusivity, fostering a workplace where everyone feels valued and can be themselves. Our diverse and inclusive workforce allows us to learn from each other and better represent the communities we serve.
Safeguarding
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. You should recognise signs of possible abuse, harm or neglect in its different forms and know what to do if there are concerns. All colleagues are required to attend safeguarding training appropriate to their role and to undertake additional training in related areas. You also have the ability to seek appropriate advice and report concerns, including escalation if action is not taken.
Benefits and Development
We’ll provide full training, so it’s a great opportunity to learn something new. In return, you will enjoy access to a wide range of benefits and services to support your physical and psychological well-being. We will invest in you as a Senior Care Assistant and provide additional support and benefits including:
