About Action for Children
Vulnerable children in the UK need your help
Wherever you work in the Action for Children family, you will be helping to change the lives of the most vulnerable children in the UK.
Last year, we helped more than 670,000 children and families across the UK. From direct work in communities to national campaigning, we are focused on making sure every child has a safe and happy childhood, and the foundations they need to thrive.
Why Action for Children?
Working here is more than a job. Everyone in the Action for Children family is passionate about protecting and supporting children. It’s the sense of purpose that drives us every day. Because we know that, when we work together, we can make a huge difference to bring lasting improvements to vulnerable children’s lives.
The role
Our Residential Support Worker is an entry-level role where no previous experience or qualifications are required. We’re looking for a positive attitude and the desire to provide the best care to children and young people. This is a great opportunity to get your foot in the door, explore the field of Social Care, and gain practical experience.
You’ll create a safe and supportive environment for children and young people to grow and develop, prioritising wellbeing by delivering personalised care, guidance, and advocacy. It’s key that they stay safe and healthy and can reach their full potential.
In return we’ll offer you opportunities to progress within our organisation.
We offer an in-depth induction process and training. You’ll be enrolled in the qualifications you need to work in the industry, with regular supervision with your line manager and team meetings to help you feel part of our team.
Once you’ve gained relevant experience and qualifications you’ll be ready to progress to the next step in your career with us.
About the service

How you’ll help to create brighter futures
As a Residential Support Worker, you’ll be responsible for the personal care and daily routines of the young person, including personal hygiene, communication, administering medication, and safeguarding through accurate recording and reporting.
Let’s talk about you

Ideally you’ll:
* Understand how to engage with young people
* Have a positive, can-do attitude
* Be able to work on your own or as part of a team
* Be ready to complete a Level 3 in Residential Childcare within 2 years of starting, with full support provided
