Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Preschool Deputy Leader to join our team in a nurturing environment focused on early childhood education. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the leadership team, ensuring the safety and well-being of children while fostering their development through engaging activities. This position requires strong communication skills, a passion for childcare, and the ability to manage and inspire young learners.
Hours per week: 26.5 hours per week (Mon - Fri) made up from 8.30am-1.45pm 4 days per week, 8.30am-2pm 1 day per week.
Salary: The salary for this role is currently set at £25,183 per annum (pro-rata), £13.05 per hour. This salary is reviewed annually.
Contract: Permanent, Term Time (Salary will be divided/paid over a 12 month period). Pension and other benefits are included.
Duties
* Assist in the planning and implementation of age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development.
* Support the Preschool Leader in managing daily operations within the setting.
* Ensure a safe, clean, and stimulating environment for children at all times.
* Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to build positive relationships.
* Monitor children's progress and provide feedback to parents as required.
* Help maintain accurate records of children's activities and development milestones.
* Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance professional growth.
Experience:
Essential Criteria:
Minimum Level 5 Children's Care Learning and Development (CCLD) or equivalent
Paediatric First Aid *
Excellent working knowledge of Curricular Guidance for Preschool Education, Department of Education for Northern Ireland
Minimum of 2 years recent relevant experience
Knowledge and proven practical experience of Minimum Standards Health and Social Care Trust (HSCT)
Desirable Criteria:
Basic Food Hygiene Certificate *
DCPO (Designated Child Protection Officer Training) *
3 or more years relevant experience
Knowledge and practical experience of observations through a digital learning App
Knowledge and practical experience of the Department of Education Preschool Education Programme (PSEP)
*Or willingness to obtain
