Our Software Engineering Manager (OpenGL Safety Critical Driver Team) will manage the team who need to deliver the OpenGL Safety Critical graphics drivers for our current and next generation graphics cores, with full compliance to relevant industry safety criteria and standards as well as documentation regarding software. Working alongside the graphics software teams to support them in the continued delivery of implementing the full operating system and driver stack for our PowerVR graphics hardware, you’ll provide guidance and knowledge to key stakeholders and be responsible for the overall company-wide drive to achieve the ISO 26262 accreditation for use in automotive markets. You’ll manage geographically dispersed teams in the UK, Poland and India, as well as liaise with other teams in the company to ensure hardware designs meet the specification requirements. The position also involves interaction with the external technical community that drives forward safety critical graphics technology. This will bring you into contact with current and future generations of 3D hardware targeted at automotive devices that are currently, and will continue to be, in millions of devices. You will Ensure compliance of Imagination’s graphics software to the IS026262 standard and criteria Deliver the safety measure implementation and work products including the safety cases Provide technical leadership and software architecture guidance to the team Complete hardware and software performance analysis and optimisation of drivers to get the most out of our graphics cores Interact with our simulation, research and hardware design teams to improve our next generation graphics cores Support customers and their partners in bringing new products to market Help to maintain architectural and functional documentation Abilities make possibilities Committed to making your customers, stakeholders and colleagues successful, you’re an excellent communicator, listener and collaborator who builds trusted partnerships by delivering what you say, when you say. You have A career background in either systems software design/development or verification Experience in effectively leading successful engineering teams Previous experience programming low-level hardware The ability to communicate to all levels of stakeholder, internally and externally, from engineers to operational teams Either knowledge of automotive functional safety protocols or modern graphics APIs (OpenGL, Vulkan, OpenGL ES, DirectX) You might also have Hands on experience with modern graphics APIs (OpenGL, Vulkan, OpenGL ES, DirectX) General understanding of 3D graphics and GPU design concepts Experience in ISO 26262/61508 projects, in software or hardware (ASIC/FPGA) Professional Functional Safety qualification/accreditation e.g. TUV Experience working with large, complex codebases Experience with GreenHills Integrity and QNX or other OS at the driver level Until good is better and better is best Dare to think big?
