Description
Our client is a respected, third-generation family business with over 90 years in the transport industry. They supply and distribute a range of materials and services and are now looking for an experienced Dispatcher to join their team. We're seeking someone with a strong transport background who understands the daily demands of transport operations.
Hours: Monday to Friday from 6.00am-4.00pm
Day-to-day duties include:
* Coordinating and scheduling daily loads for timely delivery
* Communicating effectively with drivers and subcontractors regarding delivery plans
* Liaising with relevant parties to confirm and manage delivery bookings
* Maintaining accurate records by updating dashboards with bookings, transfers, and related data
* Responding to customer enquiries and providing timely shipping updates and ETAs
* Proactively addressing and resolving transportation delays or operational issues
The successful applicant will have:
* Experience working as a dispatcher within the transport industry
* Good geographical knowledge of New Zealand
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Strong team collaboration skills required for daily operations
* Availability for an immediate start, long-term
