Key Requirements
* Manage a small allocation of children and provide reflective supervision to the family support worker.
* Carry out effective assessment, planning, and delivery of social work services to children and families, promoting life chances for children and young people under Walsall Council's responsibility.
* Provide quality social work services to children in need and their families in accordance with legal requirements, departmental policies, and procedures.
* Practice social work responsibly within legislative frameworks and council policies, under the supervision of the Team Manager.
* Complete all work within specified timescales, adhering to national and local policies.
* Manage a diverse workload, including challenging cases involving vulnerable children and families with complex issues.
* Undertake safeguarding investigations, attend strategy meetings, case conferences, and reviews as required, and perform the lead professional role when appropriate.
* Ensure needs are met and risks are managed to achieve the best outcomes for children and young people, within resource constraints and under the guidance of the Team Manager.
* Work collaboratively, building good relationships with children, families, carers, colleagues, and other agencies.
* Provide high-quality, timely assessments and reports for courts, child protection conferences, statutory reviews, and other forums as directed.
* Complete life journey work.
Skills
* Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
* Committed to supporting children, young people, and their families, with resilience to go the extra mile to help them achieve their potential.
* UK driving license.
