Position Overview
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated experienced Maternity Support Worker to support the community midwives based on the North Manchester site. The role involves assisting the midwives caring for women and birthing people during the antenatal and postnatal period with supervision from the midwives. You will support parents to care for and feed their babies and undertake parent education.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform blood tests and observations on both mothers and babies.
* Support midwives with administration, including ordering blood tests and booking appointments.
* Clean and maintain the environment, restock equipment, and utilize IT systems.
* Support families in the community setting, focusing on public health promotion.
* Communicate with women on the phone and work closely with them and their families in their homes.
* Work shifts covering days, weekends and public holidays, following a fair roster to accommodate family commitments.
