The Role
As a senior member of the Finance team, you will lead financial reporting, oversee the full budget cycle, and ensure strong financial control across both capital and revenue activities—including a significant development programme.
You will manage a small team and act as a trusted Finance Business Partner, supporting and challenging stakeholders to ensure the organisation remains financially strong.
Key Responsibilities
1. Act as the Lead Finance Business Partner to budget holders
2. Deliver high-quality financial information to senior management
3. Lead the budget-setting process and ongoing performance reporting
4. Support managers in business case development
5. Oversee accounting for capital expenditure
6. Lead the year-end process and manage external audit
7. Prepare statutory financial accounts
8. Manage and develop a team of four finance staff
About You
You’re ready to step up, lead, and grow into a future Head of Finance role.
Essential Requirements
9. Qualified CCAB or CIMA Accountant
10. At least 2 years’ experience leading financial and management accounts
11. Proven experience managing and developing staff
12. Strong experience producing statutory accounts from trial balance
13. Hands-on, proactive approach
14. Ability to obtain a basic DBS check
Desirable Skills
15. Experience within the housing sector
16. Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
17. Knowledge of VAT and partial exemption
18. Experience developing staff towards professional qualifications
