Job Description
* Assist in balance sheet reconciliations, prepayments, accruals and forecasting
* Monitor and manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
* Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
* Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy of financial data.
* Prepare and submit VAT returns and other financial compliance documentation.
* Provide support for internal and external audits.
* Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
* Collaborate with the wider accounting and finance team to improve processes and efficiency.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Assistant Accountant should have:
* A background in accounting and finance, ideally within the retail industry.
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
* Experience with accounting software and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
* An eye for detail and excellent organisational skills.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
* Relevant qualifications or progress towards professional accounting certification.
* Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with stakeholders.
