We are looking to appoint a Janitor/Cleaner to join our Cleaning Department. Start Date: ASAP Salary: Scale A, Pt 3, £12.85 /hour - (£24,796 FTE – please note that the salary for this post will be pro rata) Hours: 30 hours per week. Clean floors, walls, partitions and internal woodwork as appropriate. Clean toilets to a high standard and other sanitary areas. Refill and replace consumables, ie, toilet paper, hand towel, handsoap, sanitary items. Manage stock levels and liaise with Asst Facilities Manager to re-order Collect and dispose of waste while travelling around site Undertake basic record keeping Report breakages/faulty equipment/H&S issues to Asst Facilities Manager Monitor/Supervise pupils use of toilets during breaks, reporting any patterns to Asst Facilities Manager Undertake special cleaning programmes during school holidays Operate everyday equipment in accordance with instructions and check/clean equipment regularly To be fully aware of, and comply with, all departmental instructions and procedures relating to Health and Safety at Work and to recognise the responsibilities required under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 To be fully aware and to comply with the instructions under the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (C.O.S.H.H.) Undertake other similar duties and activities that fall within the grade and scope of the post as directed by the Headteacher or Senior Leadership Team Personal and Professional Conduct A member of staff is expected to demonstrate consistently high standards of personal and professional conduct.
