About the Role
As an English Teacher, you will deliver engaging and challenging lessons that develop students' skills in reading, writing, and critical analysis. You will support learners in exploring a wide range of texts, from classical literature to modern writing, while strengthening their academic writing and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver high-quality English Language and Literature lessons
Teach a range of texts including prose, poetry, and drama
Develop students' reading comprehension, writing accuracy, and analytical skills
Support GCSE and A-Level English Language and Literature (where applicable)
Assess, track, and report on student progress
Encourage a love of reading and creative writing
Contribute to curriculum planning and enrichment activities such as book clubs or literacy initiativesAbout You
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Degree in English, English Literature, or related subject
Strong subject knowledge and passion for literature and language
Ability to engage and inspire students of all abilities
Excellent communication and classroom management skills
Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
