Your new role
As an Interim IT Support Engineer (1st Line), you will be the first point of contact for IT support across the school. Starting ASAP and initially running until the end of July, you’ll provide reliable, face-to-face and remote support to staff and students.Working hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:00Key responsibilities include:
1. Providing 1st line IT support to teaching and support staff
2. Logging, managing and resolving incidents and service requests via the helpdesk
3. Troubleshooting hardware, software, and basic network issues
4. Setting up and supporting classroom technology (laptops, projectors, interactive whiteboards, AV equipment)
5. Assisting with user accounts, password resets, and access issues
6. Maintaining IT equipment and peripherals, including basic installs and replacements
7. Escalating moreplex issues to senior IT colleagues where required
8. Supporting a safe and secure IT environment in line with safeguarding and data protection requirements
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
9. Previous experience in a 1st line IT support or helpdesk role
10. Good working knowledge of Windows devices, Microsoft 365, andmon school or office IT systems
11. Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills
12. A proactive, organised approach and the ability to work independently
13. Experience in an education or similar public sector environment
14. Willingness to undergo relevant safeguarding checks and DBS checks
