Finance Manager - Education
Location: Tonbridge
Salary: £18 - £23 per hour
Contract: Temporary role 3-6 months via Office Angels
Hours: 37 per week, office based, all year round.

We're looking for a friendly and experienced Finance Manager to join an organisation in West Kent.
Working closely with the CFO, you'll help make sure everything runs smoothly from a financial perspective - from keeping reporting accurate and up to date, to making sure they are compliant and getting the best value for money. Most importantly, your work will help support the wider goal of delivering great education.
What you'll be doing
You'll be responsible for the day-to-day finance function across the Trust, including:
1. Preparing monthly management accounts, cashflow forecasts and key reports
2. Supporting with the annual budget and keeping it updated throughout the year
3. Making sure all financial processes meet the requirements of the Academy Trust Handbook and other regulations
4. Working with auditors on year-end accounts and helping ensure a smooth audit process
5. Keeping a close eye on financial controls and reducing risk
6. Overseeing payroll to ensure everything is accurate and submitted on time
7. Managing contracts to ensure good value for money
8. Supporting long-term financial planning and highlighting potential risks or opportunities
You'll also work closely with school and Trust teams, helping them understand finances and stay on track with budgets.
Additional areas you'll support
9. Identifying opportunities to bring in additional income and supporting funding bids
10. Helping maximise income from lettings and other activities
11. Supporting staff with finance-related training and guidance
12. Attending leadership or trustee meetings when needed
About you
We're looking for someone who is:
13. Experienced in finance - education or multi-site experience is a bonus
14. Ideally qualified or part-qualified
15. Detail-focused but also able to see the bigger picture
16. Comfortable working with senior stakeholders and explaining financial information clearly
17. Proactive, organised, and happy to roll up their sleeves
18. Happy to complete a DBS check upon successful appointment
