I am currently looking for a Business Development Director for a global full-service clinical Contract Research Organization with a strong reputation, stable client base, and consistent growth. This is a newly created, exciting role within a high-performance global team. The organization boasts an excellent collaborative culture and is supported by a respected commercial team and industry-leading clinical expertise.
The role is an individual sales contributor position, primarily remote, focusing on the UK and Western European markets. You will be responsible for acquiring new business and managing accounts within pharma, biotech, and medical device sectors across various therapeutic areas including oncology, CNS, renal, and rare diseases. Success requires a hunter mentality, a robust network, and a proven sales record in the region, selling comprehensive CRO solutions.
Your responsibilities include:
* Achieving sales and business development targets and developing strategies for target markets.
* Prospecting to build a pipeline of opportunities and RFPs from qualified potential clients.
* Using Salesforce to track client interactions, meetings, opportunities, and updates.
* Leading and managing the sales process from lead generation to closure.
* Overseeing proposal development to ensure alignment with client expectations, including strategy, budget, and timelines.
* Redefining profitable market niches based on evidence.
* Providing marketing input to support business development initiatives.
* Contributing to sales targets and strategies based on industry and territory insights.
* Supporting pre-sales activities by securing necessary resources.
* Engaging with agents and consultants in other regions to expand market reach.
* Collaborating with internal research teams to maximize selling opportunities.
* Attending conferences and trade shows to generate new business opportunities.
