Autism Behavioral Health has three center locations in Connecticut: Danbury, Trumbull, and Waterbury. Services are also provided in-home and community settings across the state. We serve children and families affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder, promoting autism awareness and acceptance. ABH was established to meet the growing needs of parents and caregivers of children with ASD. Our goal is to positively impact our clients' lives by offering treatment interventions that foster personal growth and support a full, dignified life.

The Behavior Technician provides ABA services to children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder under the supervision of the Clinical Manager.

Responsibilities include delivering Applied Behavior Analysis treatment, including behavior management, discrete trial training, pivotal response training, and social skills development. Data collection must be accurate and consistent throughout each session. Additional duties may be assigned by the Clinical Manager. Company-provided Registered Behavior Technician training and testing are available after 30 days of employment.

Preferred qualifications include a degree in Psychology, Sociology, Child Development, or related fields. Candidates should be self-motivated, responsible, honest, articulate, and able to work independently with minimal supervision. A professional demeanor, organization, attention to detail, and excellent time management are essential. Candidates must maintain professionalism, respect cultural and linguistic diversity, and be comfortable working in various home environments, including those with limited resources. The ability to interact politely with individuals and families who may be uncooperative or aloof is required.

Professionalism must be maintained when clients exhibit challenging behaviors such as aggression, self-injury, tantrums, or screaming. Strategies for behavior modification and discrete trial teaching will be implemented under the supervision of the Clinical Manager. Effective communication with clients, families, and staff is essential. Candidates should be creative, expressive, and able to follow directions accurately.

Physical requirements include standing, sitting, twisting, kneeling, bending, crouching, walking, and sitting on the floor for extended periods. The ability to lift, push, and pull up to 40 pounds without assistance is necessary. Reliable transportation and current vehicle liability insurance are required.
