The role of a Police Detective can be demanding, but it's also rewarding. Every day presents new challenges, and you'll deal with different situations, ensuring public order is maintained at all times.
You'll be responsible for protecting life and property, as well as preventing and detecting crime. Working as part of a close team, you’ll help serve and protect the diverse communities and businesses of Kent.
Join #TeamKent as a police officer, and you'll receive a starting salary of £32,907 (including a £3,000 South East allowance).
To join our Investigate First Police Constable Entry Programme (IF PCEP), you will need to meet these eligibility criteria:
* be over 18 (application possible at 17, with start at 18) – no upper age limit
* be a British citizen, an EC/EEA national, a Commonwealth citizen, or a foreign national with no restrictions on stay in the UK. Must have lived in the UK continuously for the past 3 years (unless serving with UK armed forces)
* be in good health, including fitness and eyesight
* have no criminal record, though some offences may be considered upon review
* have obtained a level 3 qualification or demonstrate relevant experience or training equivalent to level 3
You are also eligible if you meet one of these criteria:
* you are an Kent Police staff member, PCSO, or special constable who has passed probation
* you have at least 3 years’ service with the armed forces and an exemplary discharge reference
