The Role:
Hampshire County Council requires an IT Architect to join its diverse and talented IT Delivery Architecture Team. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background in IT and will be responsible for developing solutions built on enterprise-class platforms to meet business requirements, corporate strategies, and architectural standards.
You will design solutions that deliver real change across a wide range of services provided by the council, helping to improve the lives of residents in Hampshire, including some of the most vulnerable. You will have the opportunity to make a positive impact through your designs. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will collaborate with colleagues at all levels across IT and the wider business, producing fully costed end-to-end solutions that meet functional and non-functional requirements, conform to County Council’s architecture standards, and oversee their implementation.
About You:
The ideal candidate will have experience with Hybrid Cloud, including design work, utilizing concepts and technologies such as SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, On-Premises hosting, application provisioning and integration, Identity and Access Management (IdAM), Windows Server, firewalls, load balancers, and databases (both HCC hosted and cloud-based).
Additionally, you should possess:
* Motivation for IT architecture, design, and innovation, with the energy and capability to deliver consistently in a fast-paced, high-quality environment.
* Ability to develop architecture and solutions on enterprise-class platforms that meet requirements and standards.
* Proven experience in delivering architecture and design documentation, and identifying risks and issues through to project closure.
* Strong presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and understandably.
* Ability to quickly learn new technologies, identify opportunities, and adapt to organizational culture and new working methods.
* Aptitude for understanding business problems and solving challenges through technology.
* Experience leading the technical shaping of projects at early stages, supporting the development of business cases.
* A self-starter capable of managing a demanding, dynamic workload and stakeholder expectations.
* A strong team player who facilitates discussions and workshops, listens, and learns from others.
