The role requires the ability to work in a team in a busy acute hospital, undertaking various duties in providing catering services to over 350 inpatients across a 7-day week. Responsibilities include preparing meals for lunch and dinner, additional meals, cleaning work areas, and waste disposal under supervision.
Main duties of the job
* Comply with all Trust policies regarding Health & Safety, Fire Regulations, Manual Handling, COSHH, and Food Hygiene, including HACCP implementation at the specific location.
* Receive and inspect all goods delivered to the Catering Department following procedures and policies.
* Manage stock control, rotation, and conduct weekly stock checks.
* Deliver ingredients to the main kitchen and wards/departments for breakfast and other meals.
* Maintain a clean and organized working environment and assist in meal setup and plating.
* Support in ordering supplies and be adaptable to temperature extremes in food production areas.
* Highlight issues related to food or maintenance to supervisors and assist in cleaning after meal services.
* Work effectively as part of the catering team, adjusting to service needs as required.

* Basic Numeracy & Literacy Skills
* Experience in customer service and interacting with customers
* Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification or willingness to obtain this
