Azenta is looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to join our team in Irlam on a permanent basis. We seek a highly motivated and skilled Quality Engineer to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills and working knowledge of 5Whys and Fishbone Diagram tools.
What You’ll Do
As a Quality Engineer, you will ensure that all products meet quality standards, minimizing quality costs and maximizing customer satisfaction.
You will manage quality issues raised in the Quality Management System, ensuring swift resolution to prevent customer impact.
You will support new product introductions, ensuring robustness and reliability from the outset.
The role requires working independently and collaboratively to implement and refine defect prevention practices.
Manage quality issues from the Field, Installation, Service Teams, and Customers.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve quality issues efficiently, maintaining quality and safety standards.
Lead problem-solving sessions using tools like 8D, 5Whys, Fishbone Diagram, FMEA, and SPC to drive continuous improvement.
Identify root causes of quality issues and implement permanent corrective actions.
Work with cross-functional teams including Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain to improve product quality and processes.
Monitor and update the Quality Dashboard, tracking KPIs such as Defects Per Unit.
Train and mentor staff on quality control and Lean methodologies.
Manage multiple projects concurrently.
Support new product launches to ensure build robustness.
Review and approve engineering changes.
What You’ll Bring
Ability to prepare and analyze quality reports, providing insights for continuous improvement.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles to streamline processes and reduce waste.
Proficiency in Excel, Pivot Tables, and Charts.
Working knowledge of 5Whys and Fishbone Diagram tools.
Experience managing multiple projects.
Relevant manufacturing or engineering experience.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
