We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly and motivated housekeeper to work in our hospital on Day surgery/3d Ward at Royal London Hospital. We are interested in hearing from individuals who are willing to work hard within a strong, friendly team. They will be required to provide a KEY service within the hospital for both staff and patients. The post holders will be responsible for ensuring that the environment is of a high standard and the maintenance of a safe, clean and comfortable environment for patients. They will work with the ward-based team to ensure patient safety privacy and dignity and courtesy in accordance with Trust values.
This is a challenging but rewarding job would be ideally suited to a motivated team player. Housekeeping experience within healthcare and knowledge of Control of substances hazardous to health (COSHH), British institute of cleaning science (BICSc), Colour coding and infection control is desirable though this not essential, as full training will be given.
A maths and English assessment are required for the role.

Main duties of the job
The main function of the post includes co-ordinating cleaning, catering and minor maintenance together with other specified task as directed by the Ward Sister/Manager to ensure a safe environment. The post holder will be expected to work as part of the ward team, to be responsible for ensuring the delivery of a wide range of activities to support the ward team by the maintenance of a high quality environment for patients and visitors.
Because of the nature of the role there is some physical effort required for the unpacking of goods etc.
This is a new post and it is likely that as the role develops, some of the duties will change as the post holder gains further skills and knowledge.
