About the role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Manager to join our Regional Civils business unit.
Role Purpose
The role is accountable for managing the operational Procurement team nationally (excluding Scotland) to lead procurement on all projects (precon and in delivery), conduct tenders and obtain quotations, analyze data, report on key metrics, and ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures. The Procurement Manager will work with the Supply Chain Management Team & wider civils business.
The successful candidate will be a point of contact for the Area Leadership Teams in each area of the Regional Civils business. They will be responsible for fulfilling significant/complex material requisitions to point of order and leading supply chain and subcontract procurement strategies for all Regional Civils projects. This includes accountability for creating Intelligence Reports and Supply Chain Strategies, supporting pipeline projects, managing Procurement Schedules, performance scoring, and supporting live project requirements. The candidate will also manage the team to ensure utilization of group agreements by the business and the subcontract supply chain.
What you'll be doing
* Main point of contact for operational procurement
* Provide cover for Head of Procurement when required
* Manage and deliver monthly procurement dashboards
* Act as escalation point for governance issues
* Support, coach, and develop the team
Leading the team to deliver:
* Fulfil requisitions on behalf of the business
* Provide support, resolve queries, and offer advice
* Ensure internal compliance
* Source suppliers and obtain quotations
* Conduct tender processes for projects
* Perform commodity research and spend analysis
* Engage with suppliers through meetings
* Create and review Supply Chain Strategies
* Implement and monitor Supply Chain Strategies
* Conduct procurement meetings on live sites monthly
* Manage Procurement Schedules
* Build and maintain stakeholder relationships
* Identify cost reduction opportunities
* Negotiate discounts and savings
* Manage supply chain performance
* Report savings and value-added activities
* Ensure adherence to procurement processes and procedures
