Job Description
We are expanding our PAT and Compliance team in Swansea and offer flexible self‑employed positions. The role includes pro‑rated earnings based on test rates, number of appliances tested and job dynamics. Projects range from one‑day to long‑term contracts.
The successful candidate will:
* Travel to various sites such as hospitals, retail outlets and offices.
* Use PAT test equipment to assess appliances (microwaves, kettles, computers, etc.).
* Provide users with test results and safety recommendations.
* Record findings in a dedicated PAT test report or electronic system.
* Complete completion certificates, checklists and any required paperwork.
* Maintain equipment to ensure it is up to date and compliant with regulations.
* Work independently, staying organised and efficient across multiple sites.
Qualifications and Working Conditions
A self‑employed PAT Engineer must:
* Have a valid City & Guilds 2377 PAT qualification or equivalent.
* Own the necessary test instruments and have insurance coverage.
* Be reliable, honest, and possess a can‑do attitude.
* Maintain a clean vehicle or have reliable transport to reach sites.
* Be able to travel nationally and work independent hours.
