Distribution Center Production Manager oversees the efficient operations of a distribution center, ensuring logistics, inventory management, and order fulfillment run smoothly. The role leads a team of supervisors and staff, optimizes workflows, maintains safety and quality standards, and drives continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise daily warehouse activities: quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, floor productivity, receiving, packing, shipping, and customer service.
* Schedule and oversee the warehouse team, managing the flow and quality of work to maximize efficiency and minimize overtime.
* Inspect equipment, tools, and machinery regularly and oversee general maintenance when necessary.
* Meet regularly with supervisors, coordinators, and leads to analyze productivity and develop actionable plans for loss prevention.
* Oversee and manage logistics for transporting products to customers and company facilities, communicating with supply chain leaders, drivers, and air partners.
* Handle special projects and assignments as needed.
* Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have:
* Education: Bachelor’s degree + 1 year work experience OR Associate’s + 4 years OR High School/GED + 6 years (or equivalent).
* Proficiency with warehouse procedures, excellent problem‑solving and leadership skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of staff and deliver effective feedback, written and verbal.
* Experience with Lean and Kaizen principles, workforce & task management, performance and quality management, training & compliance, and technical systems such as WMS.
* Strong organizational skills, time management, adaptability, and a strong work ethic.
Physical requirements include manual dexterity, ability to lift 50 lbs, and the ability to talk, hear, and operate equipment.
