We have a Band 6 radiographer vacancy at Dorset County Hospital.

As a senior member of the team, experience in a specialist modality would be advantageous. We are accredited with the UKAS BS70000 Imaging Services Accreditation and you will be encouraged to be active in maintaining this standard.
Main duties of the job
The Diagnostic Imaging Department at Dorset County Hospital is a cohesive, friendly and forward looking department. We pride ourselves on a supportive environment for all Diagnostic Imaging staff. There is in house provision of education and training e.g. CPD evenings and opportunities in the various modalities. The ED department has undergone a major refurbishment and a new ED and ITU is planned under the new hospital project for 2027. You will be part of the team responsible for high quality imaging across the different sites in plain film and dental radiography, theatre and fluoroscopy. We have student radiographers and apprentices from Exeter University training in our department.
The post will require participation in the provision of a 24/7 seven day a week imaging service.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS
Essential criteria
* HCPC registration
* DCR / BSc diagnostic radiography
Desirable criteria
* Post graduate training or extensive experience in a specialist field
EXPERIENCE
Essential criteria
* Considerable postgraduate experience in general radiography
* Evidence of continuing professional development and interest in a speciality area
* Evidence of participation in clinical governance
* Experience of working in a multidisciplinary imaging team
Desirable criteria
* Experience of supervising junior staff and students
* Evidence of participation in departmental audit
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Essential criteria
* Evidence of technical skills in general radiography
* Evidence of ability to communicate with patients, relatives and all levels of staff throughout the organisation
* Ability to supervise and train radiographers and students
* Understanding of clinical governance and how it relates to Diagnostic Imaging service
* Solid understanding of radiation legislation and how it impacts on our practice
* Ability to organise and manage the daily running of the general department and /or specialist area
Desirable criteria
* Ability to participate in CPD training sessions by delivering training
* Development of knowledge and skills in a specialty area
