Team: Income Management and Financial Inclusion Team
Sheffield City Council’s Housing & Neighbourhoods Service plays a vital role in supporting communities across the city, managing around 38,000 council homes and delivering services that enable tenants and residents to enjoy and sustain their home.
A fantastic opportunity has arisen to recruit a temporary Operations and Development Manager in the Income Management and Financial Inclusion Team. The team take the lead role in collecting rent, charges and arrears, as well as leading on financial inclusion measures for the wider Housing Service.
If you are an effective Manager, who wants to drive improvement and work with partners to develop the Income Management service, then this might be the job for you.
The post offers the successful applicant the opportunity to take a hugely important role in this established team. You will be part of a wider management team that is leading the challenge of protecting the Housing Revenue Account by supporting customers to manage their finances, pay their rent and so sustain their tenancy.
Income collection is crucial as it funds all housing related services to Sheffield Council tenants. The current financial difficulties that so many people are facing means the support that the team provides has never been more important.
As well as leading on the operational delivery of the Income Management Team, you would also be taking responsibility for the strategic vision of the service.
The role is currently based at Solpro (S4) although working in different locations may be required at times.
The successful applicant will have responsibility for a number of teams within the service and work closely with other Managers to achieve its objectives.
You will:
1. have experience of improving services and performance
2. have evidenced that you can manage change
3. be able to work effectively with partners and stakeholders
4. be a good communicator
5. manage a busy workload, whilst managing teams and staff
6. Understand the challenges customers face in managing their money and sustaining their tenancy, and the dependencies that impact on their ability to do so
