About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a key part in helping students with access learning, feel confident, and develop important life and social skills. Your role will include:
1. Providing 1:1 and small-group support
2. Helping maintain a calm, structured and engaging learning environment
3. Adapting activities and resources to meet individual needs
4. Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
5. Working collaboratively with teachers, SEN specialists and external professionals
6. Encouraging independence, communication and confidence
What We’re Looking For as a Teaching Assistant
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
7. Experience supporting children or young people with SEN (in schools, care, or personal settings)
8. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting pupils
9. The ability to build trusting relationships and use positive behaviour support
10. A proactive, reliable attitude and confidence in the classroom
11. Requirements:
Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
A passion for supporting and empowering children and young people
A DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
A strong commitment to safeguarding
