About the Team
Working within a team of multi-skilled maintenance engineers to maximise machine uptime while minimising unplanned downtime. The department work on all areas of maintenance for the plant equipment and site and involves preventative and reactive maintenance on CNC machines, assembly processes, robotics. There is a job role for a double-day shift pattern but the site operates on a 24 hour basis with a permanent night shift and a job role for a night shift pattern.
What you can look forward to as Maintenance Engineer:
1. Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies
2. Respond to equipment breakdowns with thorough fault-finding (electrical and mechanical)
3. Perform preventive and reactive maintenance on CNC machinery and assembly equipment
4. Complete service tasks and documentation using the CMMS system
5. Support all maintenance activities to meet departmental goals
6. Contribute to and maintain 5S workplace organization standards
7. Use SAP or other IT tools to record maintenance activities
8. Assist in TPM/PPM follow-up actions and support continuous improvement initiatives
Your Profile as Maintenance Engineer:
9. Completed apprenticeship in electrical, mechanical, or mechatronics discipline; HNC qualification preferred
10. Strong electrical bias preferred with proven mechanical skills; CNC and PLC experience highly valued
11. Experience with KUKA or other industrial robotics is an advantage
12. Solid IT skills, especially in MS Office and maintenance systems
13. Hands-on experience in maintenance/engineering with a practical problem-solving approach
14. Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
15. Team-oriented mindset with a collaborative and respectful working style
16. Willingness to support and mentor apprentices in their development
Why you should choose ZF in Darlaston:
17. Double-day shift pattern: Compensation up to £39, plus £2,.48 shift allowance, depending on experience and qualifications. Hours of work will normally be 37 per week
18. Night shift pattern: Compensation up to £47,5k plus £6,5k shift allowance, depending on experience and qualifications. Hours of work will normally be 45 per week
