Job Description
The Website Manager is responsible for overseeing and maintaining Parkwood Leisure's portfolio of websites, which includes a headless CMS and WordPress instances. This role ensures the websites are functional, up-to-date, and aligned with the organisation's goals and objectives. The Website Manager troubleshoots technical issues, maintains industry security standards, and implements improvements to enhance the user experience and website performance. The role includes managing around 25 websites, including Leisurecentre.com, Parkwoodleisure.co.uk, https://plasmenai.wales/, https://ruffordabbey.co.uk/, parkwoodtheatres.co.uk, and myhealthyway.co.uk.
Key Responsibilities
* Technical Maintenance:
o Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, ensuring the website functions correctly and securely.
o Ensure all API integrations are working as intended and connected to the web platforms.
o All WordPress plugins remain up to date and security aspects are covered.
o Ensure payment gateways are maintained.
* Performance Optimisation:
o Monitor website performance using tools such as Google Analytics 4, Google Console, and Semrush.
o Ensure that the website integrations are robust and all API connections are optimised.
* Security:
o Protect the website from security threats and vulnerabilities, and implement appropriate security measures.
o All plug‑ins to websites are maintained and kept up to date.
* Website Design and Development:
o Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the website meets business needs in terms of functionality and design.
o Work with third‑party developers to enhance functionality and customer experience.
o Work with system providers to implement best practices.
o Use data‑driven decisions to enhance the website.
* SEO and Analytics:
o Work with an SEO agency to develop best practices and identify areas for improvement to enhance website visibility.
o Use analytics to inform stakeholders.
* Stakeholder Management and Collaboration:
o Ensure third‑party developers keep projects on track and on budget.
o Deliver CMS and WordPress training to site teams as required.
o Communicate with stakeholders of all levels regarding website changes, projects, developments, and day‑to‑day issues.
o Work with third‑party system providers to implement best practices.
o Travel to in‑person supplier meetings and sites across the UK will be required.
* Documentation:
o Maintain comprehensive documentation for integration processes, configurations on the website platform for all levels of the business.
* User Experience (UX):
o Ensure websites are user‑friendly and easy to navigate.
o Ensure customer journeys are simple and evolving.
Qualifications & Experience
* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Marketing, or a related discipline.
* Experience working with multiple systems in complex organisations, integrated through APIs.
* Experience with CMS platforms such as Magnolia.
* Experience managing WordPress sites.
* Good knowledge of industry trends and understanding of good UX.
* Good knowledge of Google Analytics 4, Google Console, and SEO tools such as Semrush.
* Excellent communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
* Project management skills using agile methodologies, and the ability to work to deadlines.
