Senior Teaching Assistant
Annual salary - £25,725.06
37 hours per week - Term Time only
Hill House School is a 52 week residential special school providing quality care and education for young people between the ages of 11 and 19 with a diagnosis of autism, or whose difficulties place them on the autistic continuum. Our students often have complex needs, associated learning difficulties and challenging behaviours. The school is in the heart of the New Forest, a beautiful location which is also close to the coast.
Responsibilities
* Work as part of a team under the direction of a qualified teacher, assisting students to access a broad curriculum through individual programmes.
* Be involved in ongoing curriculum development and help plan and deliver a range of memorable learning experiences.
* Mentor and coach Teaching Assistants (TAs) new to the role, alongside the class teachers.
* Have an interest in, and a desire to further develop the Curriculum with a focus on Literacy and Communication.
* Line-manage a small group of teaching assistants and demonstrate excellent organisational and communication skills.
* Work flexibly in relation to tasks undertaken.

Hill House School is totally committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and young people and expects the same from its employees. All new staff will be subject to enhanced DBS clearance, identity checks, qualification checks and employment checks to include an exploration of any gaps within employment, two satisfactory references and registration with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
