In this pivotal role, you'll shape and influence architectural vision, drive major transformation programmes, and ensure our solutions align with business strategy and future needs. You'll provide thought leadership, mentor other architects, and play a key part in setting technology direction across the bank. WHAT YOU'LL DO Lead the definition and delivery of technology strategy, working closely with senior stakeholders and the Architecture Lead. Set and maintain architecture roadmaps, guardrails, and patterns, ensuring alignment with business and technology goals. Provide strategic oversight and governance for major transformation initiatives. Mentor and develop a team of architects, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. Represent architecture in executive forums, influencing decision-making at the highest levels. Build and maintain strong relationships across business, engineering, and technology teams. Stay ahead of emerging technologies and industry trends, bringing innovative thinking to the organisation. Champion agile ways of working and support iterative delivery. WHAT YOU'LL NEED… Deep expertise in enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, etc.) Strategic experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure), hybrid hosting, and modern architectures Strong background in API design, microservices, modular applications, and data strategies Proven ability to set architectural vision and influence at senior levels Experience leading and mentoring architecture teams Strong track record of driving technology strategy and transformation Any of the following would be a bonus… Deep industry insight into banking or financial services, with an understanding of regulatory and market dynamics Expertise in resilience and continuity, including disaster recovery and business/service continuity planning Payments experience, covering modern payment platforms, schemes, and integration strategies Strong data capabilities, particularly in data architecture and ETL processes ABOUT WORKING FOR US We're committed to building a diverse and inclusive team that reflects modern society.
