The Product Manager will lead the development, execution and management of new products that align with Study Group's strategic goals. This role involves managing the product development process from ideation to launch, ensuring that new products meet market needs, are successful and drive business growth during their Introductory phase of the Product Lifecycle. The Product Manager will drive the product innovation process by working closely with cross-functional teams to understand sector pain points and gain points; drive idea generation and ideation; design and test product concepts; build business cases; support mobilisation and product delivery to oversee and ensure the success and growth of new product initiatives.
ABOUT THE ROLE
1. Product Strategy and Planning:
o Develop an understanding of Study Group's key customer pain points (university partners and international students) to identify new opportunities for existing, newly launched, and new products
o Develop an understanding of Study Group's competitors globally to ensure pitch and positioning of products are competitive
o Develop and implement product development initiatives which align with company objectives and strategy.
o Create and maintain product roadmaps and product definition documents.
1. Product Design and Development:
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create innovative solutions.
o Oversee the design and development of new products.
o Working with key stake-holders and cross-functional teams ensure products meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure all new products have an excellent learning and student experience
1. Product Management:
o Working with the Product Operations Manager, lead cross-functional teams to ensure timely and successful business case presentations of new product initiatives which clearly outline opportunities alongside strategic aims and organizational capabilities.
o Working closely with the Partnerships Team ensure that all product initiatives are clearly understood and approved by key partners required for a successful launch to market.
o Working with the PMO manage project timelines, budgets and resources post-business case, ensure that all stakeholders understand the KSPs of a product and can deliver as required to support the product's success.
o Coordinate with marketing, sales, and other departments to lead on product launches and ongoing product management.
o Maintain oversight of the P&L of allocated product portfolio flagging risks; recommendations and opportunities for growth.
o Ensure timely and clear hand-over to BAU product management team of new product initiatives once it is approved by the Executive Committee that a product has moved into BAU.
1. Market Analysis and Customer Insights:
o Analyse market trends, customer feedback, and competitive products.
o Use insights to inform product ideas, development and positioning.
o Conduct user testing and gather feedback to refine products and inform new product ideas.
ABOUT YOU
* Proven experience working in an FE or HE education context
* Demonstrated experience in a product management or programme development role
* Strong project management skills.
* Experience leading cross-functional teams.
* Experience of working in a matrix environment
* The knowledge and experience of managing budgets
* Experience managing and analysing data to support decision making
* Excellent communication and leadership skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Proficiency in project management software and tools.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple products simultaneously.
