Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Engineer to work as a member of the Mitie Fire & Security Systems Operations site based service team. You'll ensure effective delivery of PPM, Reactive calls and additional Small Works, ensuring compliance with all Legal and Regulatory requirements at two sites based in Preston and Blackburn.
Responsibilities
* Carry out routine servicing, testing, inspection, repairs, and installation of Fire alarms, CCTV, Access control and Intruder alarm/associated equipment.
* Ensure compliance with legislative and qualitative standards, recording and documenting all activities in a timely manner.
* Deliver PPM, reactive calls and Small Works across the two sites.
* Actively participate in company‑initiated training to maintain up‑to‑date technical knowledge.
* Support the team by sharing technical and problem‑solving skills with colleagues.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a similar role carrying out PPM, reactive calls and Small Works in the Fire & Security Systems industry.
* Service test and inspection experience to relevant standards/codes, including fault‑finding techniques.
* Strong knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and ability to work to high H&S requirements.
* Excellent communication skills and basic Microsoft Word and Excel literacy.
* Capability to work with little supervision, taking initiative and driving tasks forward.
