PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Duty Fleet Manager (DFM) is a business-critical support role. They are primarily based in the MEC, but also at Rail Depot or Rail House. The DFM's role is to ensure that 777 units that experience faults are correctly mitigated in an expedient and safe manner such that the operational impact on our customers is minimised. The outcome of all technical incidents shall be documented and communicated with high levels of quality and accuracy. The role will be to act as a liaison between the Control staff and Rail Service representatives, whilst encompassing fleet engineering best practices.

OB ACCOUNTABILITIES
Reporting to the Fleet Performance Manager, the post holder will ensure availability, quality and safety standards are achieved through active and robust management of the Fleet Maintainer.
The post holder should be available as required to maintain and populate any such information gathering systems as required by a manager within the Fleet Team
The post holder is responsible for ensuring that detailed work orders (utilising SRMS) are raised by SRSUK MCRC, for all defects. These shall clearly describe the fault, the mitigations attempted and the outcome. Also, reviewing raised work orders, assessing the level of detail and background information.
