The Opportunity
The role exists to provide comprehensive Facilities Project Engineering support and lead; managing the implementation of small to large infrastructure investments, enhancements and modifications across Spirit AeroSystems (Europe) Ltd’s property portfolio, including Prestwick, Preston and Malaysia.
Responsibilities
* You will deputise in Facilities Manager’s absence within limited budget authority.
* You will manage infrastructure investments, enhancements and modifications that may be in excess of £m’s, from initial brief to completion and hand-over to Customer, in an efficient and cost effective manner within time-scale and budget.
* You will ensure project/civil engineering proposals are maintainable, cost effective, energy efficient, “whole life costs” are understood and solution/activities are strictly in compliance with all Legislation.
* You will manage the technical and financial appraisal of tender returns including preparation of financial.
* You will manage the relationship/interface, local or globally, with local community, neighbouring businesses (in particular Prestwick International Airport), Local Authority, Public Utilities and national bodies (including Malaysia Airports Authority, GoM State and Federal agencies) associated with all physical investments.
About you
* Multi-discipline experience and knowledge in the Construction / Building Industry such that the jobholder is regarded as an expert/source of knowledge in the field.
* Professional qualification – Graduate / HND or equivalent experience – in Engineering and Building Construction and/or Civil Engineering and/or Services Engineering. Membership of construction industry Chartered Institute(s) Management and Leadership understanding and experiences.
* Intermediate IT skills including Project, Excel and application of databases.
* Ability to apply creative/innovative solutions, maintaining an awareness of latest advances in the field.
* Cultural Awareness understanding especially in respect of Spirit’s Malaysia involvement.
